Which? – Audi hits back
September 1st, 2009 by Richard Aucock
AUDI has dismissed the recent Which? Car survey, which rated the firm’s A5 bottom of the pile for reliability.
The brand, it says, has so far sold over 8000 Audi A5s in the UK. While the reliability score for the A5 represents a total of just 7 faults.
‘We do not acknowledge the Which? findings as valid indicators of the level of A5 reliability,’ a spokesman for the firm contacted us to say.
The very small sample size means the data is simply misleading. ‘We believe that sample sizes of below 500 cars do not generate useful or workable data.
‘Audi is world renowned for building extremely high quality cars, and in the vast majority of cases, very strong reliability scores reflect this.’
