Warranty Direct scheme
October 20th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
WARRANTY Direct has improved its dealer warranty scheme to focus on small and medium sized retailers.
It brings new benefits to independents, in a ready-made package called Dealer Warranty Direct.
This means dealers who may not be too experienced in handling warranty packages will face no stumbling blocks – nearly everything is done for them. Administration is also minimised.
The key boost is for dealers who are not FSA-regulated. It means they can insure their own guarantees, and also gives them the flexibility to buy cover online 24/7.
It’s a valuable extra that will appeal to customers’ peace of mind in any car they’re thinking of buying, said a spokesman for the firm.
There are four levels of cover – Diamond, Platinum, Gold and entry-level Driveline.
This will cover cars up to 10 years old, that have covered up to 120,000 miles. Cover itself cab be arranged from three months to 24 months.

I use it…
Mike Allen owns allmini, and rates Dealer Warranty Direct highly.
‘Vehicles do go wrong sometimes and that is where Dealer Warranty Direct (DWD) comes in.’
Because allmini specialises in just one car, Allen often has customers travelling up to 200 miles to purchase a car from him.
The DWD product means that, on the rare occasions when a sold car breaks down, there is no need for the customer to travel back to allmini for repairs.
Instead, they can use any VAT-registered workshop.
‘Customers taking advantage of a warranty with us receive a Dealer Warranty Direct pack, which provides all the information they need, like the helpline contact details and where to get their car fixed.
‘Cars are fixed and paid for quickly, and the customer doesn’t have to stump up and then claim back – it is all done between DWD and the customer’s chosen garage.’
