Volvo and Marshall grow
February 15th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
VOLVO has boosted its relationship with Marshall Group with the opening of yet another car dealer.
Marshall now represents Volvo in Nottingham which takes the firm’s Volvo franchises to 4.
What’s more, it’s the 8th new franchise added to the group in the last 12 months!
Nottingham joins existing Marshall Volvo sites in Cambridge, Peterborough and Lincolnshire – reinforcing the Group’s claim to be the ‘fastest growing family owned dealer group’.
Marshall chief exec Daksh Gupta said: ‘This is a great addition for Marshall
and fits really well with our stated strategy to grow the business beyond our
traditional boundaries into large towns and cities with scalable markets.
‘I am also delighted to be building on our excellent relationship with Volvo which we have
represented for 10 years.’
He confirmed the new site will open in time for the new March registration – giving the site plenty of time to bed in before the exciting new Volvo S60 comes in the summer.
This should further add to an already impressive performance by Gupta’s Volvo sites. ‘As a franchise, Volvo has outperformed the industry in the composites for return on sales with their network averaging 2.1 percent against an industry average of just 1 percent in 2009.
‘In Marshall we have seen 2 of our existing sites exceed 3 percent Return on Sales.’
The new dealership will open in time to take advantage of the March new
registration market.
Gupta also promised there’s more to come. ‘We are optimistic that we will add several more during 2010.’
