INCHCAPE Volkswagen has awarded a cheque for £15,000 to car buyer Vicky Lowe from Romford.
The mum of two won the prize after taking a test drive of a VW Golf in August.
She was one of 32,000 entrants into an Inchcape competition, which ran across the retailer’s 140 nationwide dealers.
Lowe will use the cash prize to finance the Golf Bluemotion she bought from the dealer just a few weeks before. She also plans a trip to Disneyland with her two sons – and some Christmas shopping.
‘I didn’t believe it when they called,’ said Lowe. ‘I thought they were having me on!’
‘I still don’t think it has really sunk in yet, I am just so shocked. You always enter these prize draws, but you never even think anything of it.’
Lowe praised Inchcape Romford. ‘I’m grateful to the sales executive, Mark Ansell, who told me all about the competition and advised me to enter. He was very knowledgeable, and gave me all the advice I needed to choose the perfect car for me.’
The retailer’s brand manager, Richard Taylor, said: ‘Everyone at the site is really pleased that one of our customers has won the competition, particularly as it’s such a deserving winner.
‘Vicky and her family are all valued customers of Inchcape Volkswagen, and we’re delighted we can give something back to her.’
All my family buy their cars from Inchcape,’ added Lowe, ‘and this is the second one I’ve bought from Romford. I absolutely love the car – it’s always been one of my favourite models, and now it’s available in Bluemotion it’s very efficient to run and tax is extremely low.
‘Winning this is like getting the car for free.’
