Vauxhall ex-boss to JLR?
November 8th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
JAGUAR Land Rover could soon be headed up by the recently-departed chief of Vauxhall Opel.
The Sunday Times reports 55 year old Carl-Peter Forster is expected to join within a few months.
Sources for the paper say his new role would be a senior one at Tata Motors, which would include overall responsibility for Jaguar Land Rover.
He’s no stranger to British car companies: he was born in London, and headed up production at MG Rover during the BMW ownership of the 1990s.
His surprise departure from GM Europe was announced late last week, as GM decided to keep Vauxhall Opel rather than sell it to Magna.
It is currently unclear where this leaves current JLR boss, David Smith. The Sunday Times said nobody from Tata was available for comment…
