Van sales up from boom

VAN sales are expected to rocket before Christmas, due to more people shopping for things online.
Delivery and courier companies will all be taking on extra vehicles to cope with demand.
It will be used van sales that could benefit the most from this. New supplies simply won’t be able to ramp up quickly enough.
BCA CV general manager Duncan Ward said that ‘with so much activity on behalf of digital retailers in the run-up to Christmas, delivery companies will need to take on extra capacity, so we are expecting a lot of interest in the LCV market over the next few weeks.’
Official stats show online sales were up 16 percent in August - and the trend for the last quarter has been a one-fifth rise.
