UK dealers’ Toyota prize

TOYOTA has praised three UK car dealers, after they triumphed in prestigious company awards.
Top Toyota European Ichiban Customer Satisfaction awards were handed out at the company’s Brussels HQ to:
• Beadles Toyota Maidstone
• Border Toyota (St Boswells)
• Minories Toyota Wearside
The awards praise car dealers offering superb customer service, and are open to 2500 Toyota dealers across 27 countries.
37 awards are on the table – and the UK snared three of them, thanks to the savvy Toyota car dealers.
Toyota CEO and European president, Tadashi Arashima, gave out the awards. ‘An important measure of business success is customer loyalty,’ he said
‘Our goal remains unchanged: we aim to be number one in Complete Customer Satisfaction in every Toyota market. I am personally delighted to see a year-on-year improvement in both the quantity and quality of entrants.’
Naturally, the awards encompassed many criteria, both pre- and post-sale. These include:
• Showroom welcome
• Test drives
• Handover
• Accuracy and punctuality of service delivery
• General follow-up
• Overall customer care
But, what about that Ichiban name? Toyota translated it for us: it’s a variation on the Japanese for ‘customer first’…
