Toyota RVs unaffected

TOYOTA cars have suffered no discernible drop in secondhand values following the recent big recalls.
Glass’s says there are no signs of any change as the maker begins to recover after the past few months’ drama.
‘Many Toyota models still boast some of the strongest residuals in the UK used car market,’ said Glass’s car editor Jonathan Brown.
Particular star cars include the Yaris and Aygo superminis – these are ‘top three residual value performers in their respective segment’.
The IQ is still enjoying a honeymoon period too, he said. Bad winter weather has also caused a resurgence in RAV4 values – prices have increase by 5-7 percent.
Indeed, the recall has actually served as a positive factor for some buyers. This is all thanks to great service from Toyota car dealers, said Brown.
‘Toyota dealers have responded very well to the recall issue, processing bookings and completing the necessary modifications promptly and efficiently. Senior dealership managers have also been making time to speak to individual customers to provide reassurance and tackle any remaining concerns.
‘Faithful customers that have been treated well will continue to be evangelists for the brand.’
For those not won over, the outlook is also positive. ‘Motor trade sentiment – from within and from outside the Toyota network – suggests that consumer confidence in the brand should regain any lost ground during the next few months.’
With a severe shortage of good-quality used Toyotas within the dealer network, all the signs are positive for the continued resurgence of Toyota in the UK.
