Toyota maintains rep

TOYOTA’S reputation is remaining in tact says one car dealer supplier after a recent poll.
Warranty Direct asked visitors to its website whether they viewed Toyota as a ‘less reliable mark’ because of the recalls.
76 percent of people said they did not.
This has led the firm to pronounce the reliability of Toyota as not in question – Warranty Direct’s Duncan McClure Fisher confirmed ‘for years, Toyota has been one of the most dependable manufacturers.
‘It will rightly continue to be seen as a reliable make by consumers.’
The firm conducts a Reliability Index. Within this, Toyota sits high, with just 12 percent of its cars hitting a fault in an average year – well under the overall average of 28 percent.
In fact Warranty Direct rates the Corolla (2002-2007 model year) – Toyota’s most popular car – as being the most reliable motor on the road, with just 1 in 20 suffering a problem in the average year.
The good news comes as car supermarket Motorpoint reveals it will start delivering Toyotas once again, following the completion of recall work on Motorpoint Toyota stock.
Delivery of selected Toyota models was postponed earlier this month while it waited for them to be checked by the manufacturer. Those cars affected included the Auris, Aygo, iQ and Yaris.
And, now that the vehicles have been given a clean-bill of health, customers are able to collect their cars from the company’s five sites throughout the UK. It is good news for one of Motorpoint’s best-selling car brands: around 1000 Toyotas are expected to be sold this year.
MD David Shelton said ‘we’re delighted the cars have been given the all-clear by Toyota. We expect all customers who have been affected by the recall to take delivery of their new cars within a matter of days at the most.’
