Toyota’s new sales man
July 2nd, 2009 by Richard Aucock
TOYOTA has filled its sales director post, vacated after Michael Cole left to become MD of Kia UK.
Richard Baldshaw is the new man at the helm, reporting to commercial director boss Jon Williams.
The 40 year old Toyota sales expert has been with TGB for 15 years now, and has already started work in his new role.
‘The current economic climate is presenting real challenges to the company,’ said Baldshaw. ‘However, this can also present opportunities with the right product.
‘We are facing these challenges with a revitalised model range now, with Toyota Optimal Drive and third generation Prius with Hybrid Synergy Drive.
‘We continue to work closely with our Centre Partners to maximise these opportunities and build for success.’
Baldshaw started out in area aftersales, and progressed through the field roles until 2000 – when he moved to network development.
2002 saw a switch to marketing, then aftersales general manager, and finally, fleet services general manager.
