Apprentice offers cash!
February 9th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
TIM Campbell triumphed and won the original series of Sir Alan Sugar’s hit BBC TV show, The Apprentice.
Now, through his Bright Ideas Trust, he’s offering entrepreneurs aged 16-30 a similar opportunity to start up in business.
Campbell, who has created the Trust to be the UK’s only private equity style charity, will pay upwards of £25k to help fund sound new businesses.
As well as the cash, though, Campbell’s Trust will also help with finding a dedicated lawyer and accountant. This means the entrepreneur can get on with entrepreneurship.
A network of mentors and specialist business advisors are also on hand.
It’s not pure charity, though. ‘We do not do handouts nor grants. We believe that this is the new model for others to follow.’
The aim is to help the disadvantaged. Campbell says that 3.5 million 16-24 year olds are not in employment, education or training.
He wants to help them – by, who knows, becoming the car dealing giants of the future?
