Stolen Audis saved

March 11th, 2009 by Richard Aucock

stolen-audis-saved-by-exclusive-cobra-dealAUDI has made Cobra UK its sole supplier of stolen vehicle tracking alarm systems for car dealers.

The contract will lead to stronger links between the two brands, and more secure cars for customers.

Branded for Audi as Audi CobraTrak, the system may also help reduce insurance premiums, thanks to the closer collaboration. Cobra is now the only approved tracking system supplier for the Audi range.

All CobraTrak systems are Thatcham-approved. They use a dedicated SIM card, accessing both GPS and GSM networks. This is said to offer stolen car coverage in more than 180 countries.

Cobra-trained technicians install the systems  – ‘covertly’, says the company. They hook into operating centres in 36 countries.

Naturally, Cobra UK MD Andrew Smith was pleased. ‘We have forged a strong relationship with Audi and, like them, we pride ourselves in producing high-quality and technologically-advanced products.’

So why the solus deal? Rob Morris, Audi accessories manager, explained: ‘Cobra’s experience in the vehicle security industry is unsurpassed, and they are an important strategic supplier of stolen vehicle recovery systems in the UK.

‘Their range of high-quality and innovative products, combined with their outstanding customer service and excellent pan-European coverage, makes them an ideal partner for the Audi brand.’
