SEAT used RV success

April 14th, 2009 by Richard Aucock

seat-gets-used-to-rv-successSEAT has, for a while now, been posting some impressive used car market retained value figures.

This has continued into April, as the Spanish brand reports a ‘major increase’ in RVs.

Some SEATs, says CAP, are worth 14 percent more than a month ago. Models on the up include:

* SEAT Ibiza 1.6 SE: +14 percent
* SEAT Ibiza 1.4 SE: +13 percent
* SEAT Ibiza 1.4 Sportrider: +8 percent
* SEAT Leon 1.9 TDI Stylance: +8 percent
* SEAT Altea Freetrack 4: +5 percent

Why is this? Because, says CAP, buyers are clamouring for SEATs. Particularly late-plate and nearly new ones.

That’s supported by SEAT’s used car boss, David Ardern. ‘Demand for used new-shape SEAT Ibizas is massive right now, and these latest CAP figures reflect what we have been seeing for a while.

‘Even at our first closed auction for these vehicles back in February, we saw dealers bidding strongly, paying as much as 115 percent of the CAP valuation at that time in order to get hold of a car.’
