SCRAP: Taxi! LTI signs up
April 27th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
TAXI drivers (and Stephen Fry) are the latest to benefit from the Government’s scrappage scheme.
LTI Vehicles has confirmed it’s taking part in the scheme, which it hopes will help stimulate demand.
Sales director Rob Laidler said: ‘We welcome this initiative from the government to stimulate sales and improve the quality of the UK’s taxi fleet.
Indeed, he went even further, by saying ‘it’s one of those rare win win situations!’ An unflinching thumbs-up there, then.
What does LTI reckon are the chief benefits of the scheme? ‘A new TX4 is so much safer, cleaner, more efficient and comfortable than a 10 year old taxi that this will be a real benefit for drivers, customers and the environment…
… ‘as well as helping UK automotive manufacturing through these tough times.’
