Save scrap car!
September 11th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
CREATIVE thinking by one Hyundai car dealer is to see a scrappage-traded, condemned car saved!
Gatwick Hyundai is inviting proposals for the car – and the best will get it for free.
What’s it all about? Well, the car dealer took in the 1958 Morris Minor, under scrappage, against a new Hyundai Coupe.
The owner was chuffed with his £6000 saving, but the car dealer soon realised the Morris was too good to be crushed.
But, by then, it already had a certificate of destruction, ordering it to be cubed. What to do? Well, there’s nothing to say the car can’t be used as a static display in a museum…
So, the car dealer is asking for anyone who might be able to use it to write in, with their reasons why. The most compelling one to reach them by the end of October will get the car for free!
You have to admit, it’s an ingenious promotion. Are there similar such scrappage cars at YOUR car dealer that you could use in a similar scheme?
