creedRENAULT Cardiff’s new car sales executive will be swapping his suit and tie for gloves and boots for charity.

The sales executive at the dealership will putting himself into the ring as he takes part in the White Collar Boxing Evening in aid of Marie Curie.

Despite having never boxed before, the 27-year-old from Cardiff will be joining nineteen other fighters for the charity event which takes place at the Cardiff Coal Exchange on June 3.

Alongside the event will run a black tie dinner for spectators during which a variety of fundraising activities will be taking place including a charity auction.

Cree, who has worked at the dealership for more than a year, said: ‘t all started when a colleague of mine went to a similar event and suggested I give it a try. After thinking about it for a few weeks I decided to do just that, even though my mum tried to talk me out of it!

‘Training starts soon and all the guys taking part will train together before the big night. We’ll also get proper head guards to make sure we’re protected.

‘I hope to raise around £500 in total and have already got the full support of everyone at the dealership.”

Darren Bowen, sales manager at the dealership, added: ‘Over the past 12 months our staff have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help raise money for local good causes but I think Michael’s challenge is perhaps the most impressive so far.

‘He’s really thrown himself in at the deep end and for that everyone at Renault Cardiff is very proud of him and will either be supporting him on the night or sponsoring him beforehand.’

Bowen added: ‘We’re hoping this will help raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie and add to the thousands Renault Cardiff has raised for local charities over the years such as Ty Hafan.’
