Roller’s £195k at auction
August 23rd, 2010 by Richard Aucock
BCA reports that posh motors continue to make good money at auction despite the economic uncertainty.
A 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe has just sold for £195,000 at a sale for Lex Autolease.
It was the top draw in a 266-car posh motor auction, that saw more than £4m raised on the day. The average price of all cars sold was £15,125.
BCA also revealed that 178 people bought cars on the day, meaning that some bought more than one motor…
Tim Naylor from BCA said: ‘This was a really positive sale, with a fabulous entry of top drawer vehicles from Lex Autolease.
‘With more than 400 buyers attending the sale at our Blackbushe auction centre and competitive bidding throughout, it suggests there is plenty of demand for even the most expensive vehicles despite the continuing economic uncertainty.’
