Dealer gets new team
March 6th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
RENAULT Exeter has appointed a complete new set of top bosses for its Marsh Barton retailer site.
The Bristol Street Renault retailer has given the general manager role to Neil Ferguson.
He heads up the team for the site which has served local customers for over 13 years.
Adam Preston has been made general sales manager – after 20 years at the Marsh Barton Estate, where he’s gained a huge amount of experience in both volume and prestige marques.
Alongside him is sales controller Paul Reynolds, who joins from a business manager role at a competitor site in Marsh Barton. There’s also a new sales executive for the Renault dealer – Paul Abrams brings plenty of experience of the Exeter area.
The complete management shake-up at the Renault dealer has energised Ferguson. ‘Now is a very interesting time to be joining Bristol Street,’ he said.
‘We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to improve this thriving dealership, and all of us here are committed to the traditional values of customer service, and offering the highest quality standard of service to our business and retail customers from within the Devon area.’
Appointing such a talented team was, he said, vital. ‘In a difficult economic climate, we’re delighted to have attracted such high-calibre staff to join our established team. There’s a wealth of experience within the team, which is helping us move forwards.’
Indeed, he gave us some impressive facts in making the announcement.
‘When there are daily reports of doom and gloom in the car industry, we’re reporting a 27 per cent increase year-on-year for used cars throughout January, and a 30 per cent increase for February.’
New car registrations at the Exeter site have risen 50 per cent compared to last year, he said.
But it’s not just the sales department that’s booming. ‘Our service department was 67 per cent ahead of last January for net profitability, and is 40 per cent ahead YTD with our year ending end of February.
‘This increase in sales has been down to a renewed focus by all the team, with the new management team making an instant impact on performance.’
