Part exchange values fall

January 12th, 2010 by Richard Aucock

px-down-but-still-upPART exchange values at car auctions fell once again during December reports one car auction firm.

However, they are still a hefty 25 percent higher than at the same point in 2008!

Auction4cars says prices during the month were £174 down on November. This means the average part-exchange price stands at £2618 – which is still a strong result, says group disposal manger Neil Prescott.

The market has been unpredictable for the last twelve months, but we anticipate part-exchange values to begin to stabilise in the near future.

‘Values reached their peak in September 2009 but since when they have been falling steadily in line with market averages.’

Auction4cars now has its sights set on selling 15,000 cars from its trade-only part-exchange division throughout 2010. Car dealers have four sites to choose from as the firm’s expansion continues.
