Oil the wheels of a sale
September 17th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
CAR buyers who put off buying oil because they’re not sure of the right brand now have aid from an oil company.
Chevron Global Lubricants has launched a trick new service for its Havoline oil brand.
Owners simply text the word ‘oil’, and their registration number, to the number found in Texaco filling stations. By reply, they’ll receive a text telling them just what grade of oil to use!
It really is as simple as that…
Texaco forecourts will carry full details of the service, which costs 50p plus the standard text service. Ideal for helping the two-thirds of car owners who don’t actually check their oil at all.
Brian Hayes marketing manager for Chevron Global Lubricants UK, reckoned the service ‘removes any confusion, with motorists no longer having to search out handbooks, or find car details such as engine type, model, and year of manufacture.’
