Nissan Juke at £12,795
May 28th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
NISSAN has revealed Juke prices will start at £12,795 when order books open at dealers next month.
The supermini crossover will hit UK roads in September.
Such a headline-grabbing price means Nissan car dealers are already expecting ample interest in the stylish new car. it is hoped the baby brother to the hit Qashqai will replicate its innovative sibling’s dealer-pleasing success.
Three engines will initially be offered – 1.6 petrol, 1.5 dCi diesel and a 190bhp performance 1.6 turbo petrol. The 1.6 petrol is the cheapest, with diesel costing £1350 more.
There are also three trim lines, familiar to the rest of the Nissan range: Visia, Acenta, Tekna. This will help familiarity for car buyers faced with the intriguing new concept.
It will only come in 5-door form, and all models include alloys, ESP, 6 airbags and air con.
The range-topping Tekna 1.6 turbo adds hi-tech features such as Porsche-style torque vectoring, a Land Rover-look Nissan Dynamic Control screen, plus four-wheel drive and a CVT auto gearbox.
Other Jukes are, however, offered in fuel-saving front-wheel drive guise. Customers can express interest for any of them through a special section on Nissan’s UK website.
Nissan’s UK MD, Paul Willcox, admits it is something completely different for the booming supermini sector. ‘For many years buyers in this sector have had a pretty conservative range to choose from.
‘Now we have Juke crossover which offers something innovative and exciting for the same price as a bland five-door hatchback.
‘We firmly believe the Juke is going be another huge success for Nissan and our Sunderland plant.’

I am a Nissan dealer and am pleased to soon be offering this model. We have waited for a while now to finally get the “nod” and it couldn’t come soon enough to be honest!
It’s going to be a fantastic car for us, and with the budget beating price tag, customers can have a real head turner for a lot less than they would imagine.
A crossover vehicle for the price of a super-mini is just what the public want at the moment. I have followed the Juke and of course Leaf story in Car Dealer Magazine and can only see both of these as future success stories for Nissan.
