Nissan CubeList for Cube

December 1st, 2009 by Richard Aucock

nissan-cubelist-launched-for-cubistsNISSAN has rolled out a special website prior to the launch of the head-turning Nissan Cube in January.

It’s described as ‘a unique virtual club for Cube fans and prospective buyers’.

Forming what Nissan says is a ‘groundbreaking project,’ not everyone can access the site. To ‘get your name on it’, customers need a special access code.

Alternatively, they can click through a series of questions which will rate whether they are allowed in! ‘Only those individuals judged to have sharp and original taste and who favour quality of life at the expense of urgency will be added to the CubeList,’ said Nissan.

To Car Dealer Magazine, this (slightly baffling mantra) sounds like a genius way of prospecting, to ensure only high-quality leads are fed through.

Stocks of the Cube will be strictly limited, after all, and a waiting list will form very rapidly.

So what will be on the website?

Well, innovatively, there’s a live constant feed from a Cube driving around Tokyo! 3 drivers will run round for 6 weeks – heading over to any area CubeList live chat members want.

Each car is rigged up with 4 cameras, giving a view from lots of angles inside and out.

There’s a business case, too. These people will be the first Nissan will contact, passing these details on to Nissan car dealers to arrange test drives.

Any launch events will also be communicated to these selected folk.
