SCOTLAND has a brand-new Volkswagen van centre. The £3m Glasgow retailer was opened by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles CEO, Stephan Schaller.
Verve Van Centre has created 20 new jobs at the new site on Glasgow Business Park.
It boasts a 10-vehicle workshop, an ample showroom that’s big enough to swallow vans, people carriers and California campers – and an extensive range of Volkswagen Assured Used models.
Even Volkswagen Van Rental will soon be coming to the site, which also promises courtesy vehicles for vans off the road.
‘At Verve, we understand that to keep a business moving, our customers’ commercial vehicles need to keep moving too, so we look forward to enhancing our customer service by offering more facilities’ said Charlie Adair, MD of Verve
He founded the business a decade ago. Since then, commercial vehicle sales have annually risen from 64 to over 650. Hence, the need for new, bigger premises.
‘Verve is an innovative and enthusiastic business. We are quick to adopt best practice in the industry – such as the Verve Apprentice Academy, to develop the best Volkswagen-trained technicians,’ he continued.
Schaller offered some insight into the market and encouragement to dealers, too ‘At the moment, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is number one in Europe, with a total market share of 16 per cent.
‘This is only possible with a strong dealer network, fighting lowering business confidence with customer orientation.’
