New Volvo S60 images
VOLVO has released first official images of its all-new BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 rival, the Volvo S60.
The new car will get its public reveal at the Geneva Motor Show next March.
Sales at Volvo car dealers will commence in the summer, following the start of production at Volvo’s Belgian factory.
It is the first Volvo to get the all-new look, and sees the distinctive side shoulder line developed with a ‘wave’ theme. Styling is intentionally elegant, to take the model more strongly into the premium sector.
It seems Volvo move further away from its square-edged past, adopting instead a more organic approach.
It will be a 4-door saloon, in line with rivals, with Volvo president Steve Odell saying it will be ‘sportier and more dynamic than any previous Volvo’.
He added ‘it looks and drives like no other Volvo before and the car’s technology will help you to be safer and more confident behind the wheel.’
This technology includes Pedestrian Detection. It stops the car in an emergency brake, if it recognises pedestrians stepping in front of the car. It only operates if the driver does not respond.
