New MD for MB
June 9th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
MERCEDES is the latest firm to have a UK boardroom reshuffle with the appointment of Gary Savage as MD.
He will take over from the retiring Dermot Kelly at the end of the month.
Coming from the MD role at Citroen UK, Savage is a familiar face in the industry. He has also been a senior exec at SEAT and Audi.
Wilfried Steffen, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK, said; ‘Gary Savage has consistently delivered significant business results in all his previous roles and firmly established his professional reputation within our sector.
‘His role will be to lead the delivery of our passenger car strategy, working with his team to maximise sales volumes in the UK and champion the highest quality customer service, retailer professionalism and brand values.’
Tribute was paid to Kelly, too, whom Steffen said had played a key role in formalising the firm’s strategy
‘I would like to wish Dermot well and at the same time welcome Gary to the company.’
