November new car sales top 10
December 4th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
FORD once again topped the November new car sales chart with the Fiesta easily beating the next-best.
Which, as luck would have it, was also a Ford – the Focus!
The November performance marks the 9th month in 2009 that the Fiesta has topped the charts. Total Fiesta sales stand at 109,420. Again, the Focus is the next-best, but a long way behind on 86,178.
Overall, the new car market has grown for each of the past 5 months – volumes have risen 11.2 percent, which equates to more than 110,000 units.
Encouragingly, the SMMT points out that ALL sales volumes rose in November. Still, though, superminis and small cars continued to do best. Interestingly, petrol cars also clocked up a notable sales rise.
Other notable top-10 performances include the BMW 3 Series in 5th place, and the Nissan Qashqai in 9th place. The Oxford-build MINI rounds out the top 10.
