Motors partners Johnston

Time 5:43 am, May 17, 2012

MOTORS.CO.UK, the UK’s second largest car search network, has announced its plans to partner with local newspaper group Johnston Press.

The partnership will see Motors.co.uk power the used car search function across the motoring channels of Johnston Press’s network of more than 200 local websites.

The Motors.co.uk database of used cars for sale will also be integrated into these local Johnston Press sites, giving users the ability to search over 150,000 cars for sale and motor dealers a strong locally focused platform to promote their business and car stock.

This new partnership extends Motors.co.uk’s highly local reach through its existing partnerships with nine other local newspaper publishers including Northcliffe Media, Trinity Mirror, Archant and Iliffe News & Media.

Phill Jones, commercial director of Motors.co.uk, said: ‘We are proud to be partnering with Johnston Press and are confident that together we can create a product that becomes a major source of sales leads for advertisers in Johnston Press areas.

‘Our partnerships with other newspaper groups have proven the value of combining local sales presence and online expertise.’

Ashley Highfield, Chief Executive, Johnston Press plc, commented: ‘Motors.co.uk is one of the most dynamic players in the online motors space and this partnership gives us an exciting new platform for our local websites and great reach for our motors advertisers.’

The new JP motors sites will be launched later this year.
