Motorpoint sales up

NEW car sales may be falling, but this is not being reflected by sales at car supermarket Motorpoint.
The car retailer reports that sales in April were up by nearly 9 percent.
MD David Shelton admits that ‘the current economic downturn means more than people are re-evaluating big ticket purchases such as cars like never before.’
But this is where Motorpoint is succeeding, he says.
‘More and more people are coming to Motorpoint to buy nearly new (as well as new) and, in the process, save.’
He says savings over franchised car dealers can top £15k.
Bargains for April included a 2008 Audi A6 up at £19k.
Which, says Motorpoint, is below the new list price of a new, smaller Audi A4…
