motorpoint management changeCAR Dealer Eward winner Motorpoint has appointed a new general manager to its Glasgow site.

Graham Provest will lead the car dealer’s 5-acre Scottish site.

Sales there were up nearly a third over 2007 levels in October. It sells more than 4000 cars a year from the Mount Vernon site.

Provest joins from BSkyB, where he was a divisional manager. The 42 year old has also worked for Diageo and Guinness UDV.

He will take charge of a staff role call numbering more than 35.

‘I am absolutely delighted to have joined such a dynamic business as Motorpoint,’ said Provest. ‘I look forward to helping turn car retailing on its head in Scotland – with Motorpoint’s value for money proposition backed by a customer service second to none.

Paul Winfield is operations director at Motorpoint. He said: ‘The arrival of Graham marks the start of another exciting chapter in the company’s development.

‘He comes with real front line sales experience, and I am confident he will put it to good use, as we look to spread the message about Motorpoint throughout the whole of Scotland.’

Provest will also lead the company’s various sponsorship deals, such as the shirt deal with the Scottish Rocks. In his spare time, he also competes in off-road 4×4 events.
