Manheim super centre
December 16th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
MANHEIM will open the doors to its new super-centre next month – on a former US Airforce base!
The car auction group is to open a 30,000 sq ft auction hall area at the Bruntingthorpe facility.
A 670-acre facility located not far from J20 of the M1, Manheim reckons its new base gives it a ‘unique remarketing solution from a single location.’
Mike Pilkington, MD at Manheim, said ‘we are already in advanced discussions with several major fleet and manufacturer vendors, who are keen to take advantage of the obvious attractions to both buyers and vendors of the location and facilities available from Bruntingthorpe.’
The auction programme will soon be finalised, he added – and promised ‘standards-setting’ vehicle remarketing from it.
Bruntingthorpe will take Manheim’s UK footprint to 21 centres. It’s not the only one to get attention either, as it was also recently confirmed the Colchester super-centre it to get a big redevelopment.
The company is set on an expansion strategy in the UK, and is aiming to get all the major manufacturers, fleet and leasing companies on board.
