Looming CCD FLA advice

CAR dealers have until 31 January 2011 to implement the new Consumer Credit Directive – CCD.
For those who haven’t the first idea where to start, the FLA has come to the rescue.
It has revised its Specialist Automotive Finance test to include all the latest knowledge – and also updated all the SAF Reference Material to help dealers get as clued up as possible.
They’re shown right now on the FLA website and can be accessed by car dealers for free.
Paul Harrison, head of motor finance at the FLA, said: ‘The addition of the CCD module to the SAF Reference Material makes free information on CCD compliance readily available.
‘We hope this will be a valuable resource for the industry and help it prepare for the changes it will face under the CCD.’
By studying the materials, car dealers will be able to prove their understanding of the CCD requirements meets the high demands of the FLA. This, in turn, will help customers be more clued-up, too.
Sue Robinson, RMIF director, said: ‘We welcome this idea to ensure that dealers are prepared for the new CCD changes, and have all the information that they require to ensure that they implement the CCD as smoothly as possible.’
