Peugeot car dealer closes
June 19th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
PEUGEOT car dealer Marshall Huntingdon is closing its doors, after four decades of selling new cars.
The firm blames Peugeot network rationalisation, plus pressures of the recession, for the move.
Huntingdon Marshall employs 20 people – but, in positive news, many of them will be employed elsewhere within Marshall.
Closure is expected by the end of the month.
Marshall has a long history in Cambridgeshire – this year, the group celebrates its 100th anniversary.
British Leyland models used to be sold from the site, which had been selling Peugeots since 1994.
The site, on Huntingdon’s St Peter’s Road, will be sold and redeveloped when the car dealer closes.
