Recall hits Lexus LS
May 20th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
LEXUS has announced the posh LS is the latest Toyota Motor Corp car to be issued with a worldwide recall note.
Around 40 UK owners will be contacted for their local dealer to check their car.
The fault surrounds the Variable Gear Ratio Steering. In certain conditions when manoeuvring at low speed, the wheels return to the straight-ahead position but the steering wheel itself still looks as if it’s turning off-centre.
Lexus says the error soon corrects itself in action – the driver will notice the steering wheel moves back to the centre position.
VOSA will oversee the recall process in the UK, which is affecting 11,500 cars around the world. TMC has been investigating the matter since March this year, following 10 complaints in Japan.
No other Lexus cars are affected by the fault.
