Toyota recall not for UK
April 23rd, 2010 by Richard Aucock
TOYOTA has announced the latest global recall campaign does not affect models sold in the UK.
This is because right-hand drive Land Cruiser models are set up differently so British buyers have escaped the recall hitting headlines in other countries.
For left-hand drive Land Cruisers (and their Lexus equivalents), the recall fixes issues with the stability control system in certain conditions. The weight distribution of right-hand drive models, however, means our cars are not subject to this problem.
Toyota also said no other models – including Lexus – are affected, either. Investigations confirmed that all other SUVs, including Toyota RAV4 and Lexus RX 450h, revealed no problems.
