Land Rover up 93% in 1yr

LAND Rover staged a staggering recovery during 2009, with total year sales up 93 percent on 2008.
The firm reports sales have been consistently on the up for the past 4 months now.
Individual model improvements were even more impressive. The Discovery 4 went up by 115 percent, and the Range Rover Sport was up by an even greater 116 percent!
Land Rover UK MD, John Edwards said ‘2009 has been a very hard year for the motor industry – particularly in the premium segment.
‘However, Land Rover made some tough decisions and restructured our business model to ensure that we were in a strong position to weather the storm.
‘With our new 2010 model range launched to widespread acclaim, we are looking forward to building on our outstanding sales success in the last quarter, and to a brighter 2010.’
Total year sales were down 10.8 percent overall, despite a ‘particularly strong second half of the year’. But, he added, this was mainly due to the first quarter of 2008 also being a record-breaker…
