Jaguar leads luxury!

JAGUAR has taken overall luxury car sector honours in its first full month of retailing the new XJ at car dealers.
By close of play last month, it had outsold the Mercedes S-Class by 38 percent.
Even more impressively, sales were 70 percent ahead of the BMW 7 Series!
It equates to 295 Jaguar XJ sales in the month, and the firm says demand remains on track to clock up a good performance going forward.
Geoff Cousins, Jaguar UK MD, said: ‘We have got off to a great start, with more than 600 new XJs already on the road in the UK and customer deliveries now starting in earnest.’
He also revealed an impressive stat: ‘Like the XF, 60 percent of people that have ordered an XJ are new to the Jaguar brand.
‘Owners of premium German brands (are) proving to be the keenest to buy an XJ. This highlights just how well the XJ has been received among Britain’s leading businessmen.’
The XJ played its part in an impressive overall boost for Jaguar sales: they are up 42.5 percent year-to-date in the UK, despite the volume X-Type being discontinued. The XF is doing particularly well – it, too, is outselling rivals such as the Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series.
XK sales have improved a massive 60 percent year-on-year as well.
‘The modern Jaguar showroom is now complete,’ said Cousins… and it seems Jaguar dealers are a key beneficiary of this.
If you are a Jaguar car dealer, what has the first half of the year been like for you?
