HARRATTS has opened the 12th dealer in its territory with the launch of city centre outlet Peugeot Leeds.
Doors will open of the Scott Hall Road retailer next month.
It is big news for local employees – Harratts has taken over the territory of Robins & Day Horsforth and Evans Halshaw Central Leeds. These employees will be offered jobs at Peugeot Leeds, which is situated right next door to Harratts’ Leeds Volvo outlet.
Shaun Harratt, MD of Harratts, said: ‘We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Peugeot dealership today, which will open its doors next month, safeguarding local jobs in the process.
‘We already have a very successful Peugeot dealership in Barnsley so it is a natural progression for us to take a city centre site in Leeds.
‘We are also very pleased to offer staff at Robins & Day positions at the new dealership and increase our staffing levels in the future in line with the growth of the dealership.
‘It has been a fantastic start to the year and this latest expansion is further proof that we are not only defying the downturn, but we are growing strongly in economically difficult times.’
The site in Leeds will be one of the largest yet operated by the motor group and is a strategic move for the family-owned company that will see it capitalise on previously untapped markets in the city.
Heading up the dealership will be General Manager, Terry Bramley, who also oversees Harratts Peugeot Barnsley and has nearly 35 years’ experience working for the motor group.
