Green-thinking dealer

FIAT dealership Le Mont Saint Garage has honoured a staff member who’s been ahead of the times for years!
Peter White has been at the Channel islands dealership for 20 years – and has placed fuel efficiency right at the top of his agenda all that time.
To mark his forward-sightedness, the Guernsey dealership rewarded White with a brand new Honda 90 Cub scooter!
Owners Dave and Jackie Beausire chose to mark his 20 years working for them with the Honda – an old example of which White had ridden to work throughout his time at the dealer.
Of course, biker fans will know the last UK Cub was imported a few years back. White really regretted not buying one of the last. So, the Beausires decided to make a special import.
The couple contacted Martyn Ray of Guernsey Honda dealership, Doyle Motors, who put in the hours to secure one of the last Cub 90s available.
‘The Honda 90 Cub is the highest produced vehicle ever over 50 years,’ said Dave Beausire.
‘Production ceased when the fuel-injection Cub 100 was launched, but I wanted one of the last 90s, as it has its place in history, and owning them has been a big part of Peter’s life.
‘Peter and I have been friends since we were teenagers; to work together for 20 years and stay friends is something special. Peter is a loyal friend and colleague who has helped make the business the success it is today, and to mark this occasion we wanted to present him with something that was part of his life, other than his family, and this was it.’
White was ‘speechless to be recognised in this way, and it has taken a few days to sink in! I did not expect anything like this – I enjoy my job and meeting so many people. It’s tremendous.’
Fear not, though. When he needs a bit more speed, White also has a BSA Rocket 3 and a Harley in the garage…
