Summit meet ‘FAILED’
TODAY, Government met with car dealers and other automotive bodies, in a vital assistance summit.
The RMIF has just emerged - and taken the unusual step of issuing a blunt release, saying the meeting has FAILED!
‘Today’s Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform seminar on the automotive industry failed to address the issues facing the retail motor industry,’ said RMIF director Sue Robinson.
She reminds everyone that the industry employs over 550,000 people.
‘It is imperative that the Government declares its intentions on the introduction of a vehicle scrappage scheme, which we believe will provide a boost to the sector.
‘Other measures that could provide support for the industry also need to be considered.’
More details will follow as we receive them – watch this space!
