VISITORS to a Bedfordshire Nissan dealership are likely to hear a familiar voice after a popular radio star joined the sales team.

Adam Barden spent eight years working for Chiltern Radio and Heart FM and was known to tens of thousands of listeners across Beds, Herts and Bucks.

As a key member of the Breakfast Show with Gaz and Babs he could be heard each morning taking part in zany stunts and delivering the traffic and travel bulletins.

A talented DJ, the 26-year-old also regularly packs the dancefloors of the region’s clubs and has held two summer residencies in a superclub on the party island of Zante.

Now though, he’s traded in the microphone and turntables for a chance to work with his other love, cars, at Allen Nissan in Dunstable.

‘I had a brilliant time working in radio and had some fantastic experiences and met some amazing people,’ said Barden.

‘But I’ve always loved cars and so the opportunity to work with them every day, particularly with such a fun and dynamic brand as Nissan, is great for me. I love it.’

During his time on radio, Adam met and interviewed an array of stars including Led Zeppelin legend Robert Plant, Madness frontman Suggs and Top Gear presenter James May.

But despite his glamorous past, Adam’s new colleagues don’t bother him for tales about his time on the airwaves and celebrity anecdotes.

‘Most of the time they just take the mick and ask me to say things in my best radio DJ voice.’
