Lexus’ Audi A3 rival

LEXUS dealers, stand by to hit the big time! By the looks of this cracking concept, it’s not far off…
The firm has pulled the covers off its smallest, cheapest model yet – the LF-Ch five-door hatchback.
It’s a model that’s taking on the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series head-on, and is doing so from a unique perspective. It will be the premium compact sector’s first-ever all-hybrid line-up.
This green, eco stance is expected to give the firm a real competitive stand-out advantage in the sector – particularly, said a spokesman, given the future expected price penalties for diesel.
Meeting increasingly stringent upcoming exhaust emissions will be more and more expensive. Maybe hybrid is the answer, meaning Toyota is well primed with an answer now?
What’s more, the compact sector is expected to take the bulk of premium brand sales by as soon as next year. It is thus imperative Lexus has an entrant in this sector as soon as possible.
The stylish model looks great, easily the most dramatic Lexus yet. We love the hidden rear doorhandles, and adore the bold lines and dramatic edges – something Lexus has really gone to town with, given the more dynamic sector this model is competing in.
No details yet on prices. Indeed, an on-sale date hasn’t even been announced, but, it is hinted, Lexus dealers should prepare for it maybe as soon as next year…
