New Astra prices out
September 15th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
VAUXHALL’S soon to be under new ownership – and Magna’s getting a great new family hatch to sell.
Here at Frankfurt is the all-new Vauxhall Astra, which has been shown to the public for the first time ever. And boy, does it look good…
Vauxhall told is it’s been inspired by the Insignia, but has not copied that car. Rather, it’s taken the upscale design attributes introduced in that model, and bought them to the family car sector.
Set to cause a real stir in the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf sector when it goes on sale in the winter, Vauxhall has further thrown down the gauntlet with competitive pricing.
It start at £15,675 for the base 1.4 Exclusiv variant (a model that still comes in at under 130g/km CO2!).
That’s £270 more than the old car, but this includes a whole lot extra as standard, including:
• Air con
• ESP
• 16-inch wheels
• MP3 CD player with Aux-in
Vauxhall has told us that not only is the Astra the single most important car it sells – but that the UK is the biggest single market for Astra sales! It’s a vital, vital car for UK car dealers… and will be on our roads in December.
Other trims include S, SRi, SE and Elite, with engines including a new 1.4-litre turbo and a range of diesels that all come in at under 130g/km.
There’s plenty more for Vauxhall dealers too, added our contact. The new Meriva will be with us next year – and that’s all set to be just as exciting and innovative…
