Ford to run UK dealer epic
September 8th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
FORD is preparing to take 2000 UK dealers on an intensive training course for key new models.
A two-week epic will run at the firm’s UK training centre in Loughborough.
Starting in early November, this will give dealer staff full information on both the brand new C-MAX and Grand C-MAX range, plus the facelifted 2011 Mondeo.
Ford admits it has introduced a lot of technology on the new models, so is keen to fully train as much of the UK retailer network as possible in the intricacies.
Large car brand manager Joe Gunn-Smith said the sessions would run from 1-12 November – and that a big TV advertising campaign would also air from October.
‘We want to get as much information as possible over to dealers and buyers alike on these new cars.’
New features include driver alert systems, blind spot warning systems, main beam assist, Bluetooth iPod adaptors: all we be covered in the Loughborough sessions.
It is part of a wider Ford drive to bring more technology to market. The brand says it is widely known for its design and handling prowess; the intent now is to gain a name for being a technology driver, too.
Car Dealer Magazine is driving the new Fords this month, as they make their press debuts. Come back to find out what we think – and let us know what your views are, too!
