Ford targets aftersales
November 17th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
FORD is launching an initiative that will help car dealers boost aftersales business from older-car owners.
Blue oval dealers can now offer a special £99 Ford Value Service, to owners of car 3 years old or more.
As an added bonus, the maker is also including a year’s European breakdown recover package, from Ford Assistance, with the service.
Making it ‘a superb offer for cost-conscious drivers looking for value for money,’ said Ford Customer Service marketing manager Paul Muers.
Particularly for credit-crunched owners who ‘might be tempted to let their service schedule lapse for a month or two to ease cash flow, or to take their car to an independent repairer’.
Much better to use one of the 400-plus participating Ford dealers and Rapid Fit centres offering this deal, he says. Car dealers can promote the use of Ford Original Parts, for example, plus workmanship randomly audited by the RAC.
‘A £99 service represents real value at a time when motoring and living costs are spiraling.’
We reckon it’s a stonking deal from Ford, that really should help drive aftersales to Ford franchised car dealers. If you’re running the scheme, let us know your experience of it in action.
