Ford sales lead grows

FORD is stretching its advantage over rival car brands with an even better performance in April.
It boasts a 27,824-car lead over the next-best selling brand in the UK.
This is nearly 6500 units more than the lead it had at the same time in 2009. It is strong sales across the range of cars that has helped this, reckons the brand.
But it’s the dominant Fiesta and Focus that are the real front-runners. As Car Dealer Magazine has frequently reported, there just seems to be no knocking the Ford supermini off the top UK best sellers slot.
It is well supported by its blue oval wing man, the Ford Focus.
Nigel Sharp, Ford of Britain MD, said: ‘Ford’s continuing stream of new model introductions, incorporating our low CO2 technology, suits the current market conditions.’
Dealers are playing a big part in this too though, he added. ‘We are working hard with our dealers to make customers aware of the outstanding value provided by these technically advanced and stylish vehicles.’
