Ford Fiesta gets ESP
April 29th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
FORD dealers are to receive yet another Fiesta boost with the news Ford has standardised ESP stability control.
All Fiesta models now get ESP as standard – previously, it was a £300 option.
The move will help Ford dealers promote the car’s safety aspects, particularly as not all rivals have ESP as standard on all versions yet.
Hyundai, though, has offered ESP as standard on the i20 range since April 2009, as Car Dealer Magazine reported last year.
There is also a key CO2 reduction for the strong-selling 1.25 82 version. Emissions have been cut to 129g/km, which means a £110 per year reduction in the annual VED road tax bill.
1.6 TDCi diesel models, meanwhile, bet a power boost to 95bhp and an emissions cut to 107g/km: this means they enjoy FREE road tax.
There are also standard kit improvements for certain models: Studio cars get electric door mirrors, while top-spec Titaniums now feature Bluetooth.
