Footballer’s new Suzuki
March 9th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
ENGLAND former international Clive Allen – he of ITV punditry fame – has just bought a brand-new car.
Suxuki dealer Glyn Hopkin Ltd of Hertfordshire recently presented the star with an 09-plate Swift Altitude.
The limited edition model is quite different to the usual Bentleys and Aston Martins seen in football club car parks.
But it’s probably rarer, said Glyn Hopkin MD Fraser Cohen – the special edition is limited to 500 models.
Allen has bagged a bargain. He’s paid £10,250 for the model, which has 17-inch alloys, air con and rear spoiler. However, the 1.3-litre engine is likely to dwarfed somewhat by the multi-cylinder supercars of his colleagues.
So why did he choose the Suzuki? Cohen explains: ‘Clive Allen was looking to buy a car which offered fun, a sporty edge, coupled with great value for money, low CO2 and high fuel economy and the Attitude ticked all of the right boxes.
‘We are very pleased to welcome the Allen family to the brand, and we wish them all the best with their new purchase.’
There you go, then. TV pundit living in real world shock! Although we do suspect the presence of Allen Jr may have influenced the purchase too…
