Fiesta leads sales again
April 8th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
FORD refuses to be budged from the new car best-seller chart with the Fiesta retaining its 2010 crown.
23,681 Ford Fiestas were sold, to give it the market-leading honours.
What’s more, its margin of superiority over the 2nd-placed car was a staggering 5692 cars. And that runner-up car? Why, it was the Ford Focus…
Vauxhall came in 3rd and 4th with the Astra and Corsa, and it was familiar faces throughout the rest of the top 10. MINI continues to impress, claiming 8th spot in March while Renault has managed to get the Megane back into the top 10 best seller list, too.
Year to date, unsurprisingly, the Fiesta is also by far the biggest UK seller. Ford has shifted more than 35,000 of them in 2010, meaning it is likely to repeat last year’s statistic of achieving 6-figure annual sales.
Most segments posted growth in March but the Mini segment recorded by far the strongest gain, up 90.3 percent.
