Ferrari F40 at auction
September 25th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
Ferrari’s F40 supercar is joining the all-star Historics at Brooklands car auction in a last minute entry.
The famous hypercar is another entry to a list of over 70 super-rare and classic cars.
It means the car auction may attract unheralded attention from trade buyers and the public alike: such is the interest, the auctioneers actually opened the doors on Friday for viewing.
Those who want a closer look must buy a catalogue – but that’s not going to be a hindrance for a line-up that also includes an Aston Martin DB5, Ferrari 250 GTO and Roald Dahl’s old BMW 7 Series.
This is, alas, also likely to drive prices up for trade buyers. The F40 alone is expected to make between £280,000-£320,000. it means car dealers after a ‘bargain supercar’ may have to look elsewhere.
On the other hand, Ferrari F40s rarely come up for auction, which means some may have no choice if there demand is there… it’s an intriguing situation!
What do you make of the amazing car auction?
