Eco oil to make £28k?
July 1st, 2009 by Richard Aucock
SHELL has begun delivering of a new, fully synthetic fuel saving motor oil to car dealers – Helix Ultra E.
The oil company reckons it will cut fuel consumption by up to 2.2 percent every year. That’s equivalent to a hefty 72kg less pumped into the atmosphere.
And if that still doesn’t convince customers in your aftesales department, try this fact: it will help them go an extra 220 miles every year – for free.
The firm reckons this is a real business opportunity for car dealers. That’s provided they are careful to fully explain the benefits of the new oil.
Do this, and lubricant margins can be boosted by up to 40 percent a year, reckons Shell.
If current Shell Helix buyers trade up to Helix Ultra E, annual sales of 10,000 litres equals an extra £28,000 in profit.
Justine Clare, marketing manager of Shell Lubricants, said: ‘We’ve been working hard to develop the innovative and unique technology that powers Shell Helix Ultra E.
‘With a combination of special base oils, friction reducing molecules, and active cleansing agents, it contains some of the most advanced lubricant technology available in the UK today.
‘Shell Lubricants can help dealerships make the most of this business opportunity – providing sales and marketing support to help dealers across the UK engage and excite their customers about the launch of Shell Helix Ultra E.’
If there’s £28k in it for you, it could well be worth dropping them a line…
